However, sometimes you need to open several terminal in 1 profile. By default, if you want to open several terminal, you need to open another profile (create another tab).

In Linux, we do have a software called Terminator.

For now, after 2 days of Mac OS X, I still not found my way through handling extracting multiple .zip or .rar files. However, with Fedora, we have "unrar" and "zip" to handle those files. Sweet reminiscence lead me to setup "unrar" on this new toy.

Steps for rar files:
1. Download RAR 4.01 for Mac OS X
2. Extract the above file to preferred directory. Refer below pic.

3. To install "rar" and "unrar", do the following

sudo install -c -o $USER unrar /bin

sudo install -c -o $USER rar /bin

4. To extract (without quote - refer man or help):

unrar e "files"

5.Done

Steps for zip files:
Assume you have lot of files to be extracted like the picture below, it would be time consuming to "click click click" or wtv to extract those files.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 376px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-UulclrsSToc/TfDUqO-hwRI/AAAAAAAAAM8/EIvTWxBxUPQ/s400/Screen%2Bshot%2B2011-06-09%2Bat%2B10.09.46%2BPM.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5616222557370958098" />

1. Extract all those files to "extract" (can be anything though) by :

unzip -jo cr-1od0\*.zip -d extract/

2. Refer help for "-jo" and the rest of modifier.
3.Done?

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 268px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-z_wZyZpmLFA/TfDV7y2GO8I/AAAAAAAAANE/yCPFZqIYxcE/s400/Screen%2Bshot%2B2011-06-09%2Bat%2B9.49.40%2BPM.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5616223958568680386" />

I'm an avid Apple gadgets for over the past 3 years. I bought my 8Gb iPod while I'm in the Uni. The reason being are, I need a MP3 player with WiFi capabilities, store movies/video clips and touch screen. Therefore, at that time, the only thing in mind is Apple iPod. Because Wifi is my top priority.

Early in 2009, I sold my iPod to LYN forumer for RM650 and from the funding, I further save more money for iPhone 3G. After several weeks doing my observation and study on iPhone 3G, I decided to buy it. And yerp, I bought it from unknown seller. We COD (Cash on Delivery) somewhere. I couldn't remember though.

Since day 1, I'm in love my iPhone. Responsiveness, accurate touch screen, Wifi, Mp3 and jailbreak? Yerp. Jailbreak is the most important feature that I looking forward in Apple product. Oh ya, back in 2009, if I'm not mistaken, it still on 2.2.1 firmware. I like to custom my themes, tones and what ever stuff that can be custom. Shuffling ringtone, virtual memory and terminals. I would say, I maximize my iPhone capabilities about 80% of what iPhone can do. Don't ask me where is 20% because I don't know. :P

Strong community supports also to be consider in my "Why Apple?" list. There are strong community forum that give tips, guides, HOWTO for iPod, iPhone. On of my favourite is www.xsellize.com . Cracked apps! Most of the custom mods like virtual memory and stop iPhone demons were there. A must visit forum for me. Since iPhone is a bit sluggish when you do custom mods, then u must find your way to improve ur iPhone performance. How? Visit xsellize forum.

For about 1 year I possess my iPhone until there is a massive update from 2.x firmware to 3.0 firmware. Heh. Of course, I'm the early adopter in updating software. If it released, I straight away update my phone. About a week, jailbreak came out. Since jailbreak is a must for me, I jailbreak my phone and the problem start to come from that day until today. I lost my wifi!. Since that night, until today, I don't have any wifi at all. The cost for to repair the wifi is about RM400. Nah. Let it be. It looks like I'm loosing the most feature that I need in one night. It give me a such big heart break.

Moving forward, day by day, I'm using 3G data to do most of my mobile stuff. As for today, my iPhone quite sluggish, slow and turtling. It took about 2-3s to open Messages. Maybe this is the consequence of the custom mod, virtual memory mod. I'm aware of this effect in the long term. It just me that I want to try for the sake of my learning curve with iPhone. My home button sinks a little bit. I need to press slightly hard in order to use it. I'm quite dissatisfied with my phone performance right now.

I'm not Apple fanboy. And I don't care if you label me too. iPhone have serve me right about 2 years. To be my first smart phone, I take a good care of it. To do what normal phone can't do like Blackberry, Nokia etc, I think iPhone 3G did a "good job" to me. As for my learning curve, I have tried most of the mods out there. You can read my previous post about iPhone. That's my learning curve. I know a little bit of lot of things because the internet forum out there. You should too. The community, they are wonderful.

Apple basher, go and try on your hands before you bash this great product. I know you bash the product because you "join the bandwagon". How could you review something without you having the experience on your own. Seems absurd isn't it?

So long for iPhone, I think my next phone will be Android phone. Why? There is nothing much or heavy mods on the iPhone scene right now. It may change in the near future, iPhone 5 perhaps. Let's hope so.

Blogging is one of my effort to improve my English. Hope you don't mind and correct me where I'm wrong. Anyway, Part 2 will consist of my specific desire for HTC Incredible S.aPihhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02692862826837720485noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2365033591871906795.post-16691904091382093542011-03-13T22:53:00.000-07:002011-03-14T01:36:26.186-07:00Kelana Jaya and Ampang LRT Extension

Pretty easy and fast too!

For Linux, go here. https://www.dropbox.com/downloading?os=lnx . In this post, this is how-to for Fedora.

Environment : Behind proxy.

1. Download and install dropbox rpm. (rpm -ivh)
2. From terminal dropbox start -i to start Dropbox daemon. Register with Dropbox if you did not have any Dropbox account.

*After the setup, you will see, Dropbox folder in your /home/. This is where Dropbox will sync the folder with the Dropbox server. Basically, you just upload any files on the Dropbox folder and it will automatically sync to the server.

3.After you place any file on the Dropbox folder, let's say Dropbox/Public, you will see there is an small emblem to your file.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 143px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_jYCD3GOjfdY/THtiQqLIbPI/AAAAAAAAAJg/lh4TZNFiscc/s400/Screenshot.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5511106607356341490" />

4. After awhile, your file will sync to the server. After few weeks of using Picasa 3.0, Picasa suddenly crash. Nvm.

Here is the workaround.

Picasa 3.0 for Fedora. Can get it here : http://dl.google.com/linux/rpm/testing/i386/picasa-3.0-current.i386.rpm

Stated there, All downloads are approximately 30 MB: Picasa software (13 MB), Wine (11 MB) and Gecko engine (6 MB).

So, I assume Gecko is the culprit.

Let's setup Gecko first.

Refer here. http://wiki.winehq.org/picasa

You need winetricks. From winetricks, pick Gecko. Then OK.
Make sure you already have cabextract. yum install cabextract.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 293px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_jYCD3GOjfdY/THPP0W8H-mI/AAAAAAAAAIo/ggEYCJqj_HU/s400/Screenshot-Select+a+package+to+install.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5508975267622156898" />

Then,

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 261px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_jYCD3GOjfdY/THPQCIkTlBI/AAAAAAAAAIw/2gBLJzhFciI/s400/Screenshot-mOdO%40localhost:~.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5508975504282326034" />

If you behind proxy, set your proxy at /etc/wgetrc

Done.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 208px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_jYCD3GOjfdY/THPRnCOfvXI/AAAAAAAAAI4/rENbZfc1iCQ/s400/Screenshot-Picasa+3.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5508977237747023218" />aPihhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02692862826837720485noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2365033591871906795.post-80793333151272142352010-08-24T02:23:00.000-07:002010-08-24T02:36:21.735-07:00Social NetworkingFacebook : http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1070976314

Twitter : http://twitter.com/m0d0aPihhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02692862826837720485noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2365033591871906795.post-13202199324515401262010-08-24T02:09:00.000-07:002010-08-24T02:20:01.978-07:00Google goggle coming to iPhoneWhat so fuss about Google goggle?

Google Goggles lets you search Google using pictures from your camera phones. We take an image as input, and using several image recognition backends (object recognition, place matching, OCR, etc), we return relevant search results

So? Checkout this video.

Every time someone asking me about Android, this is the software I did mention after all the "What is Android?" explanation.

Since I less travelling and maybe someday, for any reason I will travel to anyplace you can name it, this is the first software that will come in my mind.

Snap the picture, and Google goggle will do the job for you by acquiring any related information, so you will not bother to ask people. Independent huh?

As much as Google goggle is made for Android, I'm looking forward for this software coming to iPhone. With the new push for Google app in iPhone, this is the major step for users to maximize the Google app.

And, to have Google Talk standalone app with backgrounding would be awesome! :)

Source: http://www.ubergizmo.com/15/archives/2010/08/google_goggles_coming_to_ios_platform.html

Google goggle: http://www.google.com/mobile/goggles/#textaPihhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02692862826837720485noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2365033591871906795.post-90726697885871200052010-08-08T22:59:00.000-07:002010-08-08T23:39:17.735-07:00i-Hack 201018 out of 27. Fantastic achievement. LOL.

Represent UTP with the name of d0t, here come m0d0 (me), wadefak and zeff. We participated in Hacking & Defence categ. So, from the close source, this hacking & defence is totally different from previous H&D. This time, each team have a server where they need to defend it (prevent from attackers to get the flag) and at the same it, the need to attack other servers (get others flag) in order to get the point.

The whole system was based on topup system. Where to gain something, u need to buy. Initially, we have Y (yen)3000 to start with. 1st thing we bought was user password in our server in order to start daemons.

We have 3 daemons :
backdoor
echo
apache2

All daemons must be running while the scoreboard will check the service. Point will be deduct if the daemon is down. To make it short, in our server, we have jobberbase as a webpage. There is a flaw, which is in the upload section for applying jobs. Race condition.Google "php race condition".

However, we did try something about it but we did not aware of the race condition flaw. As matter of fact, most of the team did not aware of it. Exception to darkc0de,w0nderpets. Maybe?

Stegno was very effing hard. Kot? Hahaha. But, several guys manage find a way to solve it, and maybe miss two or 3 steps. Kudos to them.

Anyway, it was a very good competition. Fair enough to the committee, I guess. Just, we when ask something, they will reply "Jap eh, nak tanye org dulu". Y lar dat thing happen. I will happily to interact with the "org" directly. Just like previous i-Hack where all team were place in one big cold hall, and straight away we can see the sifus (SCAN) yang buat soalan.

As a team members, I will partially take the blame on the fall of the UTP legacy (lol). So, I did realize my mistake where I did not directly engage with the organizer after there were numerous time of our box is down. Kene attack ke? I don't think so.

Ni silap die, bile box tu down, on my behalf, aku x straight away put my hands up high in the air and asking them about the box (reboot ke..) . Yet, for the last 3 hours, I remain calm as buaya in the sungai waiting for food because lapar kaw2.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As for the committee, I believe, there are significant things that you can learn from it. Aku rase, kalau taruk sume team dalam hall lagi better kot. Comfortable. Anyway, hacking and defense. LOL.

2nd, i believe, previous ihack ade buat name tag dekat participant punye card. apsal xtaruk dah? isk. kang sonot ade name situ. xde la tulis participant je. tulis la n00bies ke ape ke.

3rd, my teammate, teng aka wadefak, have serious problem with his connection. Switch problem ke, cable problem ke. This things happen byk kali throughout the fasting 12 hours. Kerepek sedap.xpe dimaafkan.

4th, 12 hours is too long la bang. sakit kepale den don tenung lappy tu. previous buat 2 days, sronok kot. maybe defcon macam tu. xtau la. tapi, if 2 days best sikit kot?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Conclusion, good event. Matlamat korang utk event maybe tercapai, maybe x, who cares. We as the participants, enjoy it. Good job.

For UTP team, GG :P

*stegno susah wei. (sebab n00b)
**mase mule2 ade network, sume pasang backtrack. haha. pakai ke backtrack tu for the H&D? tapi sounds bt cool lah. sebab ramai2 boot :P

Adios

aPihhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02692862826837720485noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2365033591871906795.post-7068241043133649092010-08-08T22:43:00.001-07:002010-08-08T22:50:10.023-07:00yum update | bypass download limitIt is not a trick or hack anyway, it just another method of how to install or yum update several packages which is more than downloadable size due to proxy or anything.

So, in my case, I believe my download limit is 47Mb in UTP. So, the package of the openoffice.org-core is 87Mb. So, there is now way to update the package via yum update.

I can't update openoffice.org because the -core package must be download first.

What I do is, I download openoffice.org-core ONLY via download manager. Then, we will instruct yum to use openoffice.org-core which we download then update anything else via the command.

yum localinstall openoffice.org-core-3.2.0-12.25.fc13.i686.rpm

Done.

:)aPihhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02692862826837720485noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2365033591871906795.post-34531902004751225912010-07-27T03:59:00.000-07:002010-07-27T04:01:08.110-07:00Remove Password from SSL Certificate
[mOdO@localhost ~]$ sudo service httpd start
Starting httpd: httpd: Could not reliably determine the server's fully qualified domain name, using localhost.localdomain for ServerName
Apache/2.2.15 mod_ssl/2.2.15 (Pass Phrase Dialog)
Some of your private key files are encrypted for security reasons.
In order to read them you have to provide the pass phrases.

Server localhost.localdomain:443 (RSA)
Enter pass phrase:

OK: Pass Phrase Dialog successful.
[ OK ]

openssl rsa -in server.key -out server.key.nopassaPihhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02692862826837720485noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2365033591871906795.post-35551990761743063072010-06-12T23:08:00.000-07:002010-06-12T23:09:30.334-07:00The Seven Habits of Effective peopleaPihhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02692862826837720485noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2365033591871906795.post-87961858484860653952010-06-09T08:05:00.000-07:002010-06-09T08:13:19.726-07:00Fedora 13 | Change cursorJust update to Fedora 13, Goddard.

Although I manage to install cursor, it seems gnome did not update the default cursor. You can get it today at developer.apple.com. We are releasing it to end users this summer, and that’s for the iPhone 3GS and iPod touch 3rd gen (last fall’s). They will run pretty much everything.”

Meanwhile, for iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2nd generation :

“For iPhone 3G and iPod touch 2nd gen, they will run many things, but not everything — they will not support multitasking, the hardware just can’t do it.”

Shit. *face palm*

For the game social networking features, it pretty much interesting. And maybe, knock out Xbox Live. LOL. Now, we can challenge player over the net. Nice!

As in folders, for jailbreakers, we already used to it by Categories application. However, since the Folders features update in iPhone OS 4.0, it pretty much preferable.

I do not bother much about iAd since it focus on the developers. I think, the iAd features will change the whole level of advertisement on mobile platform. User can interact with the advertisement without leaving their app.

Apple will host and serve the advertisement, and 60% of the profit goes to developers.

But, still NO FLASH. One of the ad use HTML5.
