Kelana Jaya and Ampang LRT Extension

As far as we know, the RM7 billion LRT is expected to start by the end of this month. The paper works and all the documentation were prepared back in 2009-2010. However, as far as I know , the timeline for the completion is 2014.

The estimated total distance for the extension is 17km with 13 stations from Kelana Jaya until Putra Height.

Overall extension

Proposed new LRT stations to be extended from Putra line (from Kelana Jaya):

Zulkifli Yusoff, Group Project Director said:

About 15% of these works for the Kelana line extension and about 20% of the works for the Ampang Line extension have been completed

Stations 5 to 9 (SS15 Subang Jaya to USJ14) are located at heavily built-up zones with not much space to build park-and-ride facilities.

But there will be 1,400 parking bays at Station 4 (Subang Jaya KTM), 1,500 bays at Station 7 (USJ7), and 700 bays at Station 10 (USJ21), with Station 4 being integrated with Subang Jaya KTM Komuter Station.

There will be adequate parking bays for park-and-ride. On top of that, we need effective bus feeder system to accommodate high demand in certain area. RapidKL will work out on the feeder bus system based on area density, demand pattern and efficient turning point.

Let's hope that this project will complete in time. Surely, the price of properties around the alignment will increase :)
